Dr. Ryan is the selected from about 30 applicants of the Brussels Breast Surgery Fellowship, for his potential to develop a bright career as a breast surgeon.
Thanks to our partner PolyTech, Dr. Ryan will be provided with a free inscription for the 2-year European Master’s degree in Surgical Oncology, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery (MRBS) 2021-2023. Furthermore, he is eligible to spend 3 months for clinical fellowship in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery at the University Hospital of Brussels, with Dr. Moustapha Hamdi. Dr. Ryan will receive 3000 euro to cover the living costs during his stay in Brussels.
The Brussels Breast Surgery Fellowship
The Brussels Breast Surgery Fellowship was established in 2018 thanks to the collaboration between Dr. Moustapha Hamdi’s team, PolyTech and Reconstructive Microsurgery European School, as a support for a new generation of Breast Surgeons.
Prof. Hamdi and his team provide a large experience with broad spectrum of clinical and research filed in breast surgery. It is an intensive and comprehensive module of refinement in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
All types of breast reconstruction will be covered including autogenous, implant breast reconstruction and oncoplastic approaches to breast cancer. Various techniques of breast reduction and mastopexy together with implant breast augmentation procedures will be exposed by the different staff members of the department.
Dr. Moustapha Hamdi and his team, the fellowship supervisors, are leaders in clinical breast research and there are many opportunities for participating in ongoing research or beginning new research projects.
Selection criteria is based on the applicants CV, a motivation letter and a letter of recommendation, and only those who will have fully completed certifica-tion of a recognized Plastic Surgery training program or in their last year training are accepted.


The European Master’s degree in Surgical Oncology, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgery (MRBS) is officially awarded by the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and organized in association with a faculty of internationally renowned experts. Delivered in a modular format (11 face-to-face modules), this degree allows you to learn all aspects of breast surgery from a highly qualified and dedicated faculty from across Europe.
Mohamad Rachadian Ramadan MD
Mohamad Rachadian Ramadan, M.D. (Dr. Ryan) is a consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon with expertise in reconstructive microsurgery and oncoplasty. He performs reconstruction with free flap methods and other microsurgery techniques.
Dr. Ryan is an Indonesian native who completed most of his training in Jakarta, Indonesia, and has always been dedicated to helping patients, especially by providing them more surgical options than most medical centers can offer. The passion leads him to pursue fellowship training in Reconstructive Microsurgery with the world’s leading experts in India, China, Taiwan, Mexico, and the USA.
As a Tutor in the Division of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ryan trains medical students, residents, and reconstructive microsurgery fellows at the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia.
In 2020, he also serves the prestigious position as PRS Global Open Journal Resident Ambassador to the editorial board.
Dr. Ryan has received many honors and awards, most recently including; The PSF/ASPS International Scholar 2021, Publons 2019 award for Top Reviewer in the Cross-Field category, ConnectMed International Fellowship awards, AO CMF Asia Pacific Young Surgeon Development award, and Ganga Hospital-Carl Zeiss award.
He is a member of the Indonesian Society of Plastic Surgeon (InaPRAS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeon (ASPS), Indonesian Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ISREMI), and World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (WSRM). He was recently selected as an International Young Plastic Surgeon (IYPS) representative for Indonesia at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
